Introduced by NHAI in 2025, the FASTag Annual Pass is a single fixed payment of ₹3,000 that covers a full year of travel on National Highways. It stays valid for 1 year or 200 trips on National Highways, whichever comes first. The pass is meant for private, non-commercial vehicles — cars, jeeps and vans (Class 4) — and is linked to your existing FASTag rather than being a separate tag.
The annual pass makes sense for people who regularly cross National Highway toll plazas. Because it's a fixed ₹3,000 for the year, frequent NH commuters save versus paying per trip — ₹3,000 ÷ 200 trips works out to about ₹15 per trip equivalent. If your driving keeps taking you through NHAI fee plazas, one upfront payment replaces a string of individual toll charges.

The NHAI FASTag Annual Pass costs 3,000 rupees and is valid for one year or 200 trips on National Highway fee plazas, whichever comes first. It is activated on your existing FASTag rather than being a separate tag.
Private, non-commercial cars, jeeps and vans only. Commercial taxis, goods vehicles, buses and coaches are not eligible, whatever anyone selling it tells you. If your vehicle is registered commercially, the pass is not an option.
It depends entirely on how many National Highway plaza trips you make in a year. If you drive a tolled highway most weeks it usually pays for itself; a few trips a year and it does not. Our pass calculator works it out from your own trip count instead of guessing.
It applies to National Highway fee plazas under NHAI. State-operated roads and some privately operated expressways are outside it, and are charged normally from your FASTag balance - so you still need a working balance alongside the pass.
