NHAI FASTag Annual Pass explained (₹3,000)

Everything to know before you buy the annual pass — cost, validity, eligibility and the catch.

What is the FASTag Annual Pass?

The FASTag Annual Pass is a prepaid pass introduced by NHAI in 2025. It costs ₹3,000 and is valid for one year or 200 trips on National Highways, whichever comes first. Instead of paying at each plaza, you pay once and travel under the pass until either the year ends or you hit 200 trips.

Who is eligible?

The annual pass is for private, non-commercial vehicles only — cars, jeeps and vans that fall under Class 4. It is not available for commercial vehicles.

Where does it work?

The pass works only at NHAI National Highway fee plazas. It does not cover every kind of toll, so it's worth knowing where it won't help:

  • State highway tolls
  • Most private expressways
  • City and municipal tolls
  • Commercial vehicles

Is it worth it?

At a flat ₹3,000 spread across 200 trips, the pass works out to roughly ₹15 per trip on National Highways. Whether that's a good deal depends on how you drive: for regular National-Highway commuters who cross NH plazas often, it can be well worth it. If you rarely use National Highway tolls, or mostly travel on state highways, expressways or city roads, the pass is likely to be less useful since those aren't covered.

How to activate it

The annual pass is linked to your existing FASTag, so you need a valid, KYC-done FASTag on the vehicle before it can be activated. If that's in place, we can activate the pass for you — just share the vehicle number and we'll handle the rest.
